A lovely note from the family of Robert "Coach Bob" Boyle, who was one of the beloved characters in my East High YA novel THE SCRUB. I'm pleased that Coach was able to read the book during his final battle. Knowing him well, I'm sure he got a kick out of it. RIP Coach Bob. I know that from heaven you are looking down with a smile and the usual twinkle in your eyes. You will be missed by family, friends, students, and the thousands of athletes who came to you as boys and graduated as young men.  |
